That was hard work for New Zealand in that session with Sri Lanka showing the will to grind it out. There were fifties for Dimuth Karunaratne and Angelo Mathews, the pair of whom led a really good recovery for the visitors after their early jolts. It was only through a concerted barrage from Wagner that New Zealand managed to break the partnership. But now that they’ve done so, they sense an opening. Chandimal hasn’t looked at total ease against the short stuff which the pacers are increasingly resorting to as this ball is getting older. Makes for an interesting final session. Back in 15..
